Apologies for stealing a line from MJ...but nothing seemed more appropriate to describe the demise of my dear friend in a road accident on new year eve night.
He was a pillion, I was told, their bike collided with a truck on the highway - The rider lost life almost instantly - My friend had a few breaths left till he reached the hospital - Put on ventilator, the doctors said he had bleak chances of survival - he gave up his fight few hours later.
What consumed a few lines in this blog, must have felt like a lifetime of pain and anguish for him. Probably he was too numb with pain to feel it or if luckier - unconscious.
People say - "Fate is sealed"...may be it is so, else who would have known that the guy who spoke to me few days back discussing career and frequent job-jumps would vanish from our lives just like that.
My new-year-wishing SMS was delivered to his mobile phone...may be that same time around he was on the verge of the last few minutes of his life...how un-realistic...how unfair..how just-not-done..yet all we have left are ways to cope with the facts and memories to fill the void he left.
No number of safe-driving warnings are enough to avoid such incidents. People reading this are requested to drive safe, and pass the message ahead. Its a hell of pain for the survivors. Family & friends.
